Dec 2006
- 20-Dec-2006: Reminder: there is NO Troop Meeting on 25 Dec nor 01 Jan because of the Holidays. The next scheduled Troop Meeting is on Mon 8 Jan.
- 04-Dec-2006: The Troop 350 family is invited to Nathan Abell's Eagle Scout Court of Honor which will be held on 10 Dec at 2:00pm at St. John's. Reception to follow.
- 04-Dec-2006: Remember to bring your unwrapped toy for the 3rd Annual Toys For Tots program on 11 Dec. See the Flyer for details.
Nov 2006
- 23-Nov-2006: Those that are going to Fall Creek Falls on 1-3 Dec need to bring their backpacks to the next meeting. Packs need to be fully packed with at least 2 liters of water. Be prepared to plan menus at the meeting. Those that purchase meals will be reimbursed by the Troop Treasurer. Also, if you are still interested in going, it is not too late to sign up. The cost is $16. See Mr. Pottratz or Mr. Abell.
- 11-Nov-2006: Veterans Day: Please take a moment to reflect on those that served, and on those that continue to serve to preserve our great nation through their honorable sacrifice.
- 10-Nov-2006: Earn Service Hours and help out the Troop and St. John's! Come help move your Troop equipment from the garage Sat 11 Nov from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

- 15-Oct-2006: The Family and Fishing Campout is scheduled for 21-22 October at Cowford Landing. Come for a great schedule of Family Fun and the Court of Honor; it's close to home!
- 05-Oct-2006: Venture Crew is sponsoring a Haunted House at Madison M

- 01-Oct-2006: Thinking of Advancement? The deadline for awards and advancement for the Family Campout / Court of Honor is Mon 16 Oct. Also, don't forget that there is no Troop Meeting on Mon 09 Oct - Enjoy Fall Break!
- 10-Sep-2006: Make Note: 27-28 Oct is Outdoor Leader Skills Training; "Every Boy deserves a Trained Leader". This is a hands on course that will teach Leaders the Scouting Skills leading up to the rank of First Class. It is difficult to sign off on a scout's advancements if you're unsure of your own skills. This FUN 2 day outdoor course will take you through the proper Boy Scout techniques of setting up camp, tying knots, cooking, etc. Our own ASM Jim Dearman is in charge of this course so you know it'll be good. Sign up today, registration is limited to the first 32 Leaders.

- 04-Sep-2006: No Troop Meeting today. Happy Labor Day!
- 02-Sep-2006: Troop 350 members and family are invited to Ammon Thomas' Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony on Sunday 3 Sep at 1:30pm at St. John's.
Aug 2006
- 09-Aug-2006: The Troop 350 Annual Planning Campout is scheduled for 18-19 August at Camp Jackson. The PLC (SPL, ASPLs, PLs, Troop Guides), Scribe, and Adult Leaders should plan to attend.
- 08-Aug-2006: Two Adult Leadership training days are fast approaching: 1) Trainer Development Conference on Sat 12 Aug and 2) Basic Adult Leader Training on Sat 19 Aug. The former will provide training on how to train scouts and scouters (See Russ Wetzel's email for details). For the Basic Adult Leader Training, see the flyer for details.
- 02-Aug-2006: On Friday August 4th, will be Junior Leadership Training from 6 to 9 pm at the Madison Church of Christ (Hughes Road, just north of Kroger/Hollywood Video). If you hold a Leadership Position in Troop 350 (Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders, Historian, Scribe, Instructors, Buglers, etc, etc..) you need to attend in order to be better trained in your leadership duties. Come Hungry, the troop will provide Pizza. We'll also have a Uniform Inspection as part of the training, so wear your Activity Uniform (Class B T-shirt) under your Field Uniform (Class A) for this important training.
July 2006
- 22-Jul-2006: Next meeting: Mon 24 July. Come to help plan the 2006-2007 outdoor program.
- 12-Jul-2006: Summer Camp Check-In is Saturday 15 July at 1:00 PM at St. John's. Bring your gear to pack the Troop Trailer, turn in your properly labeled medicines and spending money. This is your last chance to verify paperwork with the Campmaster. Please be sure to review the very important camp presentation ( PPT | PDF ).
June 2006
- 29-Jun-2006: Reminder! No meeting on Mon 03 July. The next meeting is Mon 10 July - including a special Summer Camp Question and Answer Session. Also, see the updates to the Summer Camp page and find the recommended Packing List as well as other important information regarding Physicals, etc. Remember, NO PHYSICAL = NO CAMP = NO REFUND!
- 21-Jun-2006: Happy Summer Solstice! On a somewhat related note, the new Troop 350 Calendar is now released. Click on the Calendar link at the top of the page to try it out! As always, feel free to send feedback.
- 19-Jun-2006: St. John's Father's Day Mass on Mon 19 June at 7:00pm (Class A uniform). There is no regular Troop meeting on this day. Participation in the Father's Day event is encouraged. Scouts will help serve cake at the reception.

- 04-Jun-2006: Troop 350 members are invited to Philip David Johnston's Eagle Court of Honor at St. Johns at 2pm on Sun 11 June. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.

- 03-Jun-2006: CPR Training is complete! Let's give a big thanks to Mr. Sargent for organizing the classes and to Mr. Lewis for taking the time to teach us all this important skill.

- 24-May-2006: No meeting on Mon 29 May (Memorial Day observed). Take a moment to reflect on those who served.
- 10-Mar-2006: The latest CPR sign up sheet is available to check for your day and time slot. Adults and Scouts alike are welcome to learn this vital lifesaving technique, including the proper use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
- 07-May-2006: The next meeting is Mon 08 May which will be a Court of Honor. Come support the boys' hard work and advancement!
- 04-May-2006: REMINDER! Troop 350 members are invited to John Wetzel's Eagle Court of Honor at Asbury United Methodist Church Sanctuary at 2pm on Sun 7 May. Reception to follow.
- 03-May-2006: Don't miss the Fishing and Fly Fishing Campout on 12-14 May! Check out the detailed flyer including tips on tying those knots for the Fishing Merit Badge ( PDF | PPT ).
April 2006
- 30-Apr-2006: Next Troop 350 meeting is Mon 1 May. Fly Fishermen - come to the meeting early (6:30) to assembly your fly oufits. Scouts working on Fishing Merit Badge knots, the meeting is usual start time (7:00).
- 24-Apr-2006: Troop 350 members are invited to Tommy Plummer's Eagle Court of Honor at St. John's at 2pm on 30 April. Reception to follow.
- 24-Apr-2006: Hiking and Climbing/Rappelling trip to Savage Gulf / Stone Door is this weekend (28-30 Apr). A detailed itinerary ( doc | pdf ) is now available. Don't forget to eat dinner before departure and wear your Class-A Uniform!
- 05-Apr-2006: Eagle Ceremony for Nic Cordier on Sat 22 Apr at 2:00pm.
- 05-Apr-2006: No meeting on Mon 10 Apr in observance of Holy Week. The next meeting is on Mon 17 Apr to discuss the Savage Gulf climbing and backpacking campout. The second climbing training event is on Tue 25 Apr at Messiah Lutheran Church at 6:30pm.
March 2006
- 25-Mar-2006: REMINDER! Don't forget to bring your Summer Camp Merit Badge selections and schedules with you to the Mon 27 Mar meeting. See Mr. Hanson's e-mail from 18 March for details.
- 25-Mar-2006: REMINDER! Troop 350 will conduct our annual Order of the Arrow Elections on 27 March. At least 50% of the Troop needs to be in attendance in order to have a valid election. For details, see the basic candidate eligibility requirements. The Order of the Arrow is a service organization of scouts and scouters that best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.
- 18-Mar-2006: No meeting on Monday 20 March. Enjoy Spring Break! Don't forget to attend the meeting on 27 March for the important Order of the Arrow elections. Periodically check the Troop calendar as it is updated a few times per week.
- 04-Mar-2006: Check out the Summer Camp Merit Badge Schedule and decide what badges you want to earn this summer at Camp Woodruff. Sign up will be available soon.
- 08-Mar-2006: Adults! Don't forget about the upcoming training session on Sat 18 March at Asbury United Methodist Church. See the Local Training page for details.

February 2006
- 26-Feb-2006: Don't forget the Talent Show on Monday 27 Feb! Bring your best talents and let's all encourage the participants.

- 26-Feb-2006: The Troop 350 Oak Mountain Orienteering Results are now available! This was a great course and very fun event combining the best of map and compass skills. Remember, if you forgot the username and password, just drop me a line.
- 14-Feb-2006: We are a very busy troop! Please check the troop calendar for the many events and meetings. If you have and update on your camping or hiking trip, please let me know.
January 2006
- 28-Jan-2006: The next Troop meeting is on Mon 30 Jan, where we will finalize the patrol Chili recipies and event planning. Don't forget to see John Wetzel to sign up for your 45-minutes of service (set-up, serving chili or desserts, clean-up). Also, scouts need to bring the money collected from their sale of Chili Dinner Tickets (each scout should have recieved 12 tickets). See you at the Chili Dinner on Sat 4 Feb!!
- 11-Jan-2006: The next meeting is on Mon 16 Jan for those going to the 20-22 Jan campout at Oak Mountain. Take a look at the campout flyer for details.
December 2005
- 28-Dec-2005: There is a PLC Meeting on Tue 03 January at 5:30pm. Patrol Leaders and Scouts in current leadership positions are expected to attend. If you are unable to attend, please tell Joe Pottratz, our new Senior Patrol Leader.
- 28-Dec-2005: No Troop meeting on Mon 02 January. Happy New Year! The next Troop meeting is on Mon 09 January. For Scouts going camping at Oak Mountain State Park on 20-22 January, we will be meeting on Mon 16 January as well.
- 20-Dec-2005: No Troop meeting on Monday 26 December. Happy Holidays!
- 12-Dec-2005: The Troop is still missing items from inventory. See the Quartermaster's Corner for details. Please look around the house and garage and return the valuable equipment (tents, camp stoves, lanterns, cook gear) as soon as possible.
November 2005
- 27-Nov-2005: Cameron Wilson of Troop 350 is again leading our Troop's effort to assist the Toys for Tots campaign, which is sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Please see the Toys For Tots Flyer and let us again "Do our best" to help this great program. Bring your new, unwrapped toy to the 12 December meeting and meet members from K Battery, 4th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, who will be collecting toys.
- 27-Nov-2005: Winter Blast 2005 is coming to Camp Comer! If you are interested in attending, see the registration form for details. If you want to attend, this is an individual activity and not a Troop activity. Please let the Scoutmaster know so that we can buddy up any Scouts in Troop 350 that do attend.
- 21-Nov-2005: Please help Jacob Marcks with his Eagle Scout project this Saturday (26 Nov). See the calendar for details.
- 21-Nov-2005: Last weekend's Scouting In Madison was a hit! Troop 350 had the zip line going all afternoon with lots of participation. The warm desserts from our Dutch Ovens were a favorite on the cool and damp day. We'll be posting our favorite recipes soon!
