October Campout - Backpacking

Our October trip will be a backingpacking trip to the Sipsey Wilderness. I’m working to plan routes of varying difficulty, but the final routes will depend on the number of scouts who sign up and their ages.

I plan to schedule two or three practice hikes on weekends before the trip. These will be short (one or two hours). I strongly encourage new backpackers to go on the practice hikes. The hikes will give you a chance to practice carrying your gear and ask questions.

I’ve also attached Mr. Hauser’s famous backpacking gear list. Please use it as a guide.
